Lewis Memorial Fountain

The fountain was a gift to the town of Sigourney from Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Lewis in memory of their daughter Ethel Beatrix.  The three-pooled fountain was dedicated in 1940 and is in operation May through September featuring a spectacular, rotating light show.  It is located on the North East Corner of  the Courthouse Lawn, in Downtown Sigourney.

September 2014 - Our beloved fountain is in need of major repairs and restoration.  A group of friends are researching options to restore it to its former glory, the way you remember it!

A committee has been formed to address the need for the fountain repairs and its upkeep.  We have engaged the services of an architect, knowledgeable in historic preservation.

It you are interested in the future of the fountain and would like to receive information directly from Friends of the Fountain, please contact the City of Sigourney, 100 North Main, 52591 or call City Hall at 641-622-3080 or e-mail  sigcityclerk@cloudburst9.net
