SIGOURNEY AREA DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (SADC)

SEEKING A “SIGOURNEY STAR”


The purpose of the Sigourney Star Award is to annually acknowledge and encourage outstanding community service and leadership in the Sigourney Area.

Eligible Candidates and Criteria

• Must be a person or group of persons from the Sigourney Area.
• Will have provided outstanding and selfless service and leadership to community projects, community groups or individuals.
• Service being recognized will have occurred during at least the past two years.
• Is an annual event
• There may be multiple winners in anyone given year.

Submitting Candidates

• SADC Board of Directors will manage this award program.
• Any Sigourney area resident may submit candidates to the SADC office.
• A Nomination Form can be picked up at the SADC office, 112 E. Washington Street, Sigourney, Iowa 52591 or find the form on SADC’s web site www.sigourney.com.
• Completed forms must be submitted to SADC by Thursday October 10th, 2019 - Noon at the SADC office.
• In addition to the nominations by the community, the Board may consider other qualified nominees.

The Judging

• SADC Board of Directors will rate the nominees and select the best candidate(s).
• Nominations and judging will be kept confidential.

The Award

• A plaque will be presented to the award winner at SADC’s annual $10,000
Christmas raffle to be held on Friday, November 8th, 2019
• A master plaque, with all the past winners names engraved on it, is maintained at the SADC office.
