Senior Citizen Meal Sites

The Senior Citizen Centers in Keokuk County encourage participation at all the meals sites:  Keota, Richland, Delta, What Cheer, Hedrick and Sigourney.  Attendance is the key to their success and keeping the doors open.  Please make a reservation today at any one of the six sites in the county for a nutritional meal and fellowship - 641-622-3266.

The Nutrition Program provides nutritious meals to promote healthy aging. Through nutritionally sound meals, education and counseling, information is available for those who are nutritionally-at-risk. Each meal meets one-third of the current daily recommended dietary allowances/dietary reference intakes as established by the Food & Nutrition Board of the National Research Council for the National Academy of Sciences.

Meals are provided to the 60+ person and their spouse in congregate settings at area senior centers. Combining a nutritious meal with friendship, socialization, and recreation reduces isolation for older persons. This same meal is available as a home delivered meal to eligible older persons in designated communities. These reassuring and nutritionally sound services enable them to remain in their own home.
