Sigourney has three very special facilities found within residential areas of the community; Manor House Care Center, Sigourney Care Center, and Windsor Place Assisted Living. The two care centers, each located not far from our local hospital, are dedicated in helping your loved ones get the special care they need. Whether for a long-term stay or short-term therapy, each is equipped to make their residents feel right at home.

The assisted living facility is found adjacent to the Sigourney Care Center. Windsor Place provides a supportive environment for Seniors who wish to remain active and independent, yet desire the security of knowing medical assistance is available.

Meeting the needs of area seniors since 1967, the Manor House offers skilled care services, rehabilitation, and short term care. Located next to the Keokuk County Health Center, they are Medicare and Medicaid certified with highly trained professionals that offer a goal-oriented rehabilitation program. Activity programs include therapeutic goals, and the dietary department strives for resident satisfaction.

The Manor House Care Center has earned seven deficiency free surveys in a row and is a recognized leader in quality care. Their Medical Director is a geriatrician, specially trained in the medical needs of the elderly and is available for consultation to all residents.

Sigourney Care Center is a 61-bed, 24-hour skilled nursing facility located in a residential neighborhood in Sigourney. They offer private and semi-private accomodations for their residents and are Medicare/Medicaid certified. A team approach is used to design the most effective treatment program to meet each person's specific needs. The ultimate goal is to achieve the highest level of independence possible and retain/regain the highest possible quality of life.

A wide range of activities and recreational programs are offered to promote physical and emotional well-being, as well as provide a sense of belonging. They strive to create an environment allowing people the freedom to intiate activities of their choice. Programs include both spontaneous and scheduled activities. Regular activitiess include games, hobbies, arts and crafts, informal fellowship, religious services, music appreciation, group physical activities, life skills, and quiet relaxation.

A registered dietitian ensures that meals are nutritious and the food service staff is trained in preparing special diets as well as honoring personal preferences. Meals are served family-style for a pleasurable dining experience.

Windsor Place is a community with a perfect blend of housing, social interaction, and supportive services. The residential setting is ideal for Seniors who no longer feel comfortable living alone, but want to maintain their independence.

At Windsor Place you can sit back and relax in your private apartment or mingle with friends in the large social area. Each apartment is linked to a 24-hour emergency call system that will notify staff in the event of an emergency.
